Each resource (dock) can use one of two methods for calculating reservation duration. The method is configured in the resource settings.
All reservations on the given resource have the same fixed duration — regardless of the quantity or type of transport units.
Example: Dock A has a fixed duration of 60 minutes. All reservations on Dock A always last exactly 60 minutes.
The reservation duration is automatically calculated based on the number and type of transport units entered in the Shipment section of the reservation form.
For each pallet type, the system stores:
The algorithm then calculates the number of required pallet spaces per unit type and multiplies by the handling time:
⌈quantity ÷ stackability⌉ × handling time
The results for all unit types are summed — the total is the reservation duration.
| Unit type | Quantity | Stackability | Spaces needed | Time / space | Subtotal |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Euro pallet | 6 pcs | 2 | 3 spaces | 3 min | 9 min |
| Cage pallet | 2 pcs | 1 | 2 spaces | 5 min | 10 min |
| Total | 19 min |
The system automatically sets the reservation to 19 minutes and displays the corresponding end time in the reservation form.
Pallet types and their parameters (handling time, stackability) are configured in Pallet Type Management in the administration section.
