Add-on module. To activate, contact your system administrator or the Time Slot Control sales team.
The Self-service Kiosk module provides a touch-screen terminal placed within the facility (at a dock, gatehouse or waiting area) that allows drivers and visitors to check in independently upon arrival without staff assistance.
The kiosk reduces the workload on the gatehouse and reception by handling repetitive administrative tasks when vehicles and visitors arrive.
Benefits:
- Efficiency - smoother check-in for carriers and visitors, reduced queues at the gatehouse or reception
- Automation - reduction or elimination of manual work for reception and gatehouse staff, option for fully automated check-in without assistance
- Security - entry and visitor records, H&S confirmation, optional ID document reader (ID cards and passports), reduced risk of phantom transport
- Visibility - complete history of arrivals and visits
Typical kiosk features:
- driver check-in on arrival
- verification of an existing reservation or creation of a new one
- processing of a pre-registered visit or on-site creation of a new one
- confirmation of H&S or other internal documents
- automatic email or SMS notifications
- display of further instructions (dock number, etc.)
- multilingual interface for international drivers
- option to integrate with internal systems (e.g. WMS)
The kiosk is available in four variants depending on customer needs:
An individually developed solution based on customer requirements. Includes hardware delivery (kiosk) and custom TSC software.
Customisation options:
- user interface modifications
- specific workflow processes
- integration with internal systems or the automatic gate
- extended or bespoke functionality
- ID document reader (ID cards and passports)
- indoor and outdoor deployment
Greater flexibility, higher cost. Delivered as custom development.
¶ Variant 2 - Standard kiosk
A pre-configured solution for fast implementation. Includes hardware delivery and standard TSC software with basic configuration.
Adjustments available without custom development:
Requirements beyond the standard configuration are treated as custom development (see Variant 1).
¶ Variant 3 - Software Standard
The customer provides their own device (PC or tablet) running Windows - TSC delivers software only.
TSC will provide a specification of supported devices on request. The device must run the Windows operating system.
TSC provides an API and the customer builds their own solution to suit their needs.
API access is charged according to add-on module licences.
One or both modules can be activated on the kiosk:
- Reservations - check-in for drivers and carriers
- Visitors - visitor registration
- Both - the kiosk combines both modules on a single device
Email and SMS notifications work the same way as in the Time Slot Control application.
¶ Example check-in flow (Standard kiosk)
Driver check-in via the standard kiosk (Reservations module):
- Language selection - choose the interface language (multilingual support)
- Menu - select a module (Reservation / Visit)
